Mumboe Introduces More Reasons to Manage Contracts On-Demand

If you’re a Mumboe customer, you know that, as a SaaS provider, we release new updates to the Mumboe application every few weeks as they become available. However, the latest Mumboe release includes new features and services that we think are especially worth shouting about. Available today, these new offerings were developed from feedback about what is most important to you, our customers:

Read-Only Users: For only $6/user/month, Read-Only Users are an affordable way to give more users in your organization access to Mumboe. Read-Only Users can search and view agreements but can not make edits or changes, create tasks or perform other actions in the system:

Account Backup Service: Some businesses have hesitated to adopt SaaS applications due to concerns over “who owns the data.” Mumboe listened, and addressed those concerns with a new Account Backup feature. For only $24/download, account administrators can create a snapshot of all the data in their Mumboe account, including primary agreements as well as supporting documents, notes, tasks, events, contacts and even agreement summaries. You can also order a backup DVD shipped to your office for an additional $20 (includes shipping and handling):

Enterprise Adoption of SaaS is Gaining Momentum

Software as a Service (SaaS) applications continue to gain momentum in the enterprise, according to a report recently released by Gartner titled “User Survey Analysis: Software as a Service, Enterprise Application Markets, Worldwide, 2008.” The survey, conducted in June/July 2008, provides some useful insight from the buyer’s perspective into why organizations are switching from traditional enterprise software applications to SaaS. Some of the key findings include:

  • Nearly 90% of organizations surveyed expect to maintain or grow their usage of SaaS, with more than one-third transitioning from on-premises to SaaS.
  • Key drivers of the transition include total cost of ownership (TCO) and unmet performance expectations.

  • Growth is most significant in areas characterized by horizontal applications with common processes, among distributed virtual workforce teams and within Web 2.0 initiatives.
  • Top reasons by far for SaaS adoption related to TCO and the ease and speed of implementing the solution compared with an on-premises application.
  • In many cases, SaaS is funded by business units to address a specific pain point, and the business units use funds from their operating expenditure budget, over which they have more discretionary control.
  • Answering the question whether organizations view SaaS as a short-term “band-aid” solution or a long-term strategy, the survey revealed that in most cases SaaS will be a feature of the company’s application strategy in the future …and that this sentiment is reflected across all sizes of business segments, from small businesses to large enterprises.

Another interesting development for those naysayers who point to integration as a potential stumbling block for SaaS providers: The survey found that “Tied to the TCO responses was that integration (often from a heterogeneous application environment) costs and efforts of traditional on-premise applications were becoming too significant for organizations to handle.”
